Sherwood Forest Wedding

Sherwood Forest  ·  Maryland

The Project

Built for the barn.
Designed for the night.

Sherwood Forest has the bones: exposed timber, wide-plank floors, high ceilings. The bones don't set the room. EventPro came in with dressed bars, café lights, a printed dance floor, drape, furnishings, and décor to turn a rustic Maryland venue into a polished wedding reception that held together from cocktail hour through last dance.

Two dressed bars anchored the room. The circular cocktail hour bar was fitted with custom printed graphics that wrapped the panels, designed to read as part of the décor rather than a service station. A long reception bar ran the length of the room with custom fabric insert panels and fresh florals finished to match the palette.

White pipe and drape masked the venue walls on all sides, giving the room a clean backdrop from every camera angle. A custom-printed dance floor graphic carried the event's design language down to the floor. Café lights were rigged overhead across the full ceiling span, and pinspot fixtures on each centerpiece brought the florals forward after dark. Lounge seating and a custom seating chart installation with neon signage completed the environment.

How It Was Built

Production elements and
scenic fabrication

01
Custom Bar Dressing
EventPro dressed two bars from the rental catalog for the event. The circular cocktail hour bar received custom printed graphics wrapped around the panels, giving it the look of a design piece rather than a service counter. The long reception bar was fitted with custom fabric insert panels and fresh florals to match the room palette. Both bars were delivered, installed, and struck by the EventPro team.
02
Drape, Dance Floor, and Furnishings
White pipe and drape masked the venue walls on all sides, giving the room a clean backdrop that let the florals and lighting carry. A custom-printed graphic covered the dance floor, pulling the event's design language down to the ground plane. White curved lounge seating was placed around the floor perimeter, creating social areas that kept guests in the room between sets without tightening the open floor plan.
03
Seating Chart Installation
A custom seating chart wall was built and dressed with a printed blue fabric wrap, individual escort card displays for the full guest count, a neon sign, and a fresh floral frame running the perimeter. Positioned on the venue porch for cocktail hour, it served as both a functional wayfinding piece and the first design moment guests encountered on arrival.
04
Lighting and Rigging
EventPro rigged café lights across the full ceiling span of the reception space, creating the warm overhead wash the room needed after dark. Pinspot fixtures were focused on each centerpiece, pulling the florals forward against the ambient light above. EventPro's rigging team also supported the installation of the floral ceiling feature.
