The Project

Built for the drop.
Lit for the night.

BLAST Events brought EventPro in to produce the Lights Out concert at APGFCU Arena in Bel Air, Maryland. The December 2015 show drew a capacity crowd for a full production that included a custom LED video wall, a moving head lighting rig, a curved DJ booth surround, and CO2 effects run live throughout the night.

The centerpiece of EventPro's build was the custom LED video wall, a modular geometric panel design with lit cube elements arranged across the full width of the stage. The wall ran dynamic visual content throughout the show, shifting color and graphics in sync with each set. It was visible from every point in the room and set the tone for the entire night.

EventPro's lighting rig put moving heads on overhead truss, programmed and run live throughout the show. Beam effects, color wash, laser elements, and haze gave the room depth that the crowd felt from the front rail to the back wall. EventPro also deployed CO2 cannons at peak moments, sending jets across the front of house that the crowd could feel as much as hear. The DJ setup sat inside a custom curved booth surround, with finished panels wrapping the console at center stage and giving the rig a presence that held its own in a packed arena.

How It Was Built

Production elements and
show systems

01
LED Video Wall
EventPro built and operated the custom LED video wall, a modular geometric panel design with lit cube elements spanning the full stage width. The wall ran strong visual content with clean color output that was visible from anywhere in the arena, and it served as the show's central visual element from the opening set to the headliner.
02
Lighting Production
EventPro put a full moving head rig on overhead truss, programmed and run live throughout the show. Beam effects lit the room from above, color wash held the energy consistent across the floor, and laser elements cut through the haze at the peaks. The rig worked at every scale in the room, from the front rail to the back wall.
03
Stage Build
EventPro built a custom curved DJ booth surround at center stage. Finished panels wrapped the console setup and gave the rig a clean, defined look on the floor. More production furniture than platform, it made the DJ setup a proper focal point for the room rather than just a table with gear on it. In position before doors.
04
CO2 Effects
EventPro deployed CO2 cannons at high-energy moments throughout the show, timed to land on the peaks of each set. The jets hit the front of house and the crowd reaction was immediate every time. Combined with haze and beam lighting, the effects gave the show a physical quality that went beyond what the lighting and video alone could deliver.
