MWPH Storybook Gala

M&T Bank Exchange  ·  Baltimore, Maryland

The Project

A storybook world,
built from scratch.

Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital brought the Storybook Gala to the M&T Bank Exchange for their 2025 annual fundraiser. The theme was a complete Hogwarts-inspired castle environment. EventPro built it from scratch: stage set, scenic installations, a custom fabricated bar, corridor elements, printed floor, candlestick fixtures, and a deep purple lighting wash that transformed the historic bank hall into an enchanted castle for the night.

The centerpiece was a custom castle stage set built and finished by EventPro's fabrication team: a faux-stone arch with two flanking castle towers and four printed Hogwarts house crests mounted across the top. The tower brickwork and shingled rooflines were vacuformed in-house, giving the structure a dimensional surface that read as real masonry from every seat in the room. The set framed the main stage through the full program, from welcome remarks through the live band performance. LED video walls inside the arch carried the Storybook Gala branding and program content throughout the evening.

The environment extended well beyond the stage. A faux-stone castle bar was built as a full scenic piece: carved foam walls scenic-painted to read as masonry, a wooden bar top, lantern lighting, and a built-in back bar shelf recessed into the tower. A carved foam corridor wall with arched openings lined one side of the room, with silent auction items displayed in the recessed niches. A stone arch photo op framed a large printed Hogwarts castle backdrop for guests. EventPro built and finished custom tall gold candlestick fixtures that ran in a row along the perimeter. A printed floor wrap with a Hogwarts castle aerial graphic covered the dance floor in front of the stage, visible from every balcony seat and from every table in the room.

How It Was Built

Production elements and
scenic construction

01
Custom Castle Stage Set
EventPro's fabrication team built a full castle stage facade from scratch. The arch and towers were constructed as faux-stone scenic pieces: brickwork and shingled rooflines vacuformed in-house over custom molds, scenic-painted to read as aged castle masonry. Four printed Hogwarts house crests were mounted across the top of the arch. The structure framed the main stage from doors-open through the close of the live band performance. LED video walls inside the arch carried program content and the Storybook Gala brand throughout the night.
02
Faux-Stone Castle Bar
The castle bar was built as a full scenic piece, not a dressed standard unit. Carved foam walls were scenic-painted to read as castle masonry floor to ceiling, with a wooden bar top and warm lantern lighting mounted into the face. Bottles and glassware were set into a built-in back bar shelf recessed into the tower body. The bar operated through the full event and read as part of the room's scenic environment rather than a service element.
03
Corridor, Arch, and Scenic Installations
A carved foam corridor wall with multiple arched openings ran along one side of the room, scenic-painted to match the castle masonry finish on the stage. Silent auction items were mounted in the recessed niches, turning the scenic piece into a functional display that guests moved through rather than past. A separate faux-stone arch photo op framed a large printed Hogwarts castle backdrop. Custom tall gold candlestick fixtures, built and finished by EventPro, ran in a row along the perimeter wall, creating a warm point-source glow against the deep purple wash that covered the full event footprint.
04
Printed Floor, Sponsor Banners, and Event Identity
A large-format printed floor wrap with a Hogwarts castle aerial graphic covered the dance floor in front of the stage, visible from every balcony seat and from the main floor. Sponsor tower banners were printed, rigged, and hung from the ceiling above the room perimeter, carrying the full donor list through the event. EventPro produced every printed element in-house: the floor wrap, the hanging sponsor banners, and the custom lectern on stage.
